Deficiency symptoms

Deficiency symptoms on plants

A decolouration of plant leaves is ascribed to insufficient nutrition and lack of trace minerals. However, exactly observe other causes of damage also.

Lack of potassium (K)

Potassium is important for cell division and absorption of other nutrients like calcium and nitrogen. Potassium is also responsible for water balance of plants.

Lack of calcium (Ca)

Calcium is important for plants because of its ability to provide a healthy soil and to build cell walls.

Lack of phosphorus (P)

Like nitrogen phosphorus is essential for the protein structure and stimulates the development of blossoms, fruits and seeds.

Lack of trace elements

Plants only need few trace elements but these are as important as vitamins are for humans. A lack may bring about deficiency symptoms and diseases.

Lack of nitrogen (N)

Nitrogen is the main nutrient of plants, builds plant protein and is the most important part of chlorophyll.
