Nature in the garden international

In Hungary as well as in Lower Austria gardening is an essential part of leisure time activities. Natural gardens – no matter if for recreation, or as kitchen garden for self-supply – enhance the quality of life, promote health and motivate gardeners to act sensibly and take a lasting look over the rim of a teacup.

"Nature in the garden" is a project introduced in Lower Austria in 1999 aiming at stimulation of naturally arranged gardens and a respective control to conscious abandonment of chemical-synthetic plant protection products, easily soluble mineral fertilizers and peaty soil.

To reach these aims, informations concerning natural gardening are prepared by "die umweltberatung" in cooperation with the Hungarian partner organisation "Bio-cultivation association West-Transdanube" (Nyugat Dunántúli Biokultúra Egyesület) and published on the new bilingual homepage. The forum and exchange market offer the possibility to exchange garden-knowhow and plants, crop overhangs, seeds etc.

This action is to prepare a long-term basis for a close cooperation with other countries in the European Community, too – everybody may benefit from all the experiences and jointly create new information packages for gardeners.
