Bark beetle (Anisandrus, Ips, Scolytus sp.)

Bark beetles are small black beetles of two to three mm in length, being prone to mass increase and not only as ravager in forests.

Oak procession moth (Thaumetopoea processionea)

The oak procession moth is a butterfly living on oaks. The front wings are grey with faintly chiselled dark transverse lines, the secondaries are white-grey. Its wingspread is up to 25 mm.

Pea moth (Laspeyresia nigricana)

The pea moth is a nocturnal butterfly of the same family like the codlin moth. The bright-green caterpillar with a brown head grows to a size of 10 mm.

Strawberry blossom weevil (Anthonomus rubi)

The strawberry blossom weevil is a snout beetle of 3 – 4 mm in size, with black body and long, thin beak.

Summer chafer (Amphimallon solstitialis)

The summer chafer looks like a smaller may beetle (cock chafer) and is therefore often mixed up with it. As the may beetle, the summer chafer belongs to the family of scarab beetles.

Woodlouse (Isopoda)

The woodlouse (Porcellio scaber) is preferably found in dark and moist places with mouldy smells. These light-shunning animals belong to the crustacean family, ideally adapted to their living area.

Common vole (Microtus arvalis)

The common vole belongs to the vole subfamily, is yellow-grey and without tail 10 – 12 cm long.

Cherry fruit fly (Rhagoletis cerasi)

The cherry fruit fly with a size of 4 – 5 mm belongs to the tephritid fruit fly family. The wings are lined with dark stripes and the larvae develop in the cherry fruit.

Mole cricket

Mole cricket (Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa)

The mole cricket or jarr worm is up to 6 cm long and belongs to the cicada family. Its forelegs are reshaped to digging shovels. It is able to fly but cannot hop as other crickets.
